About Us

Ron and I have been married for 26 years, we have 8 kids and 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. We recently purchased a motor home and had fun traveling around the country for 3 months last summer of 2006. We plan to make more trips and hope to move to Nashville, TN as soon as our house sells.

So we found a home! Yeahh! We are really exited to move in. Hopefully by the 20th.
It is 3 bedrooms 2 bath and about 1855 sq. ft. I know it looks bigger doesn't it? That's what we thought when we first saw it from the outside. It was built in 1991 so its not too old. It has just under an acre of land so we'll have to get one of those fun riding mowers.
Since we sold all our furniture with the other house we have been busy shopping for furniture and appliances. So much fun having all new stuff.

Ok, so to make a long story short. We had a great time. We thouroughly enjoyed having Grace with us on our trip. Tina came to Tennessee and stayed about 6 days, we went to Andrew Jacksons home and fed the stingrays at the mall and went to the Opryland hotel and an outdoor concert at the Grand Ole Opry and downtown Nashville. We had lots of fun.
Bob and Sheri came up from Alabama and we had a wonderful BBQ at Rich and Jill's house.
We had a great time in Traverse City, we went to the Cherry Festival and spend a day at the dunes. I struggled up one dune out of breath and Grace ran up and down about 10 times. Oh to have that much energy and stamina again. I'd like to bottle it up and drink it every day.
So then Tina and Grace had to leave again and it was back to business of looking for a house and getting settled in.
I would like to post a lot more pictures but it would take me forever to get this blog updated.

Grace had new shoes on and she was getting tired of walking, so Gma gave her a piggyback ride.

Mattie had to try on some wooden shoes too.

Yeaaahhh!!! uncle Ronnie's house. So much fun on the lake!
A day at Mackinaw island. Only bicycles and horses allowed here.
What a fun place this is.

Grace just loved Mattie. Rich and Jill met us in Holland, Mich. with the kids
Izabelle and Grace hit it off well and had a lot of fun together
Grace loves ice pops and ice cream and of course she got plenty of it on this trip.

Here she is in the backseat as we are driving somewhere, like I said she had a way of entertaining herself. Isn't she a hoot!!
Windmill in Holland Michigan.
This is the house Ron lived in(the upstairs part) when he was stationed in Cape Cod.

Grace being silly, she had a way entertaining herself. What a great kid she was on this trip. Actually she is a great kid anytime.
Here she is playing in the sand on the beach. Ican't remember which beach this is, we saw so many.
After we took our stuff to Nashville and put it in storage and sent Michele back home, we took off that following Tuesday to go on vacation. Our first stop was Auburn Maine to spend some time with Zaq before he went on his big trip to Utah for a month.
While we were in Maine we went to Funtown Splashtown a huge waterpark and amusement park, the kids had a ball even my big kid Tina.
Then we took Grace with us on our trip to Traverse City, Michigan. Here some pictures from some of the stops we made on our way up there. Our first stop was Plymouth, Mass.
Grace and I at and indian village in Plymouth, Massachutes.

It was so hot and humid, we had to have an ice
cream break, I thought this was a cute picture

Even Gram ventured down the Mayflower and sat down and talked with one of the ladies there

Michele kicking back in the shade waiting for Rich to come back and pick us up from down town.
Our last night before Michele's departure. We had dinner at Macaroni grill.
And there they go, waiting in line at the airport. We miss you Michele and David!! It is awfully quite around here now!

Michele's last day in Nashville

Michele joined in the hula hoop contest and almost won

We posed with the silver people, do you like our cute cowboy hats? You have to have a cowboy hat if you are going to celebrate country music in Nasville. David didn't want one, we tried.
David had a ball slipping and sliding on this water toy. I dont know what to call it. But he loved it and it kept him cool on a hot day.
We had to drag him away from there kicking and screaming. He was really mad at us.

We're Here!

Ok everyone, sorry it has taken me so long to post anything but we have been a little busy, packing and driving.
But we finally made it and we are here now in Nashville. Our treck here was pretty smooth, just a flat tire on the towcar and a couple of full campgrounds. Other than that, things went pretty smooth.
So this is a very long post, I hope you have time to read it and look at the pictures.
It was great to have Michele and David with us and it made the driving a little easier for for me. The days weren't quite as long as if I had to drive the truck by myself. So my thanks to John for letting his wife go for such a long time.
She is flying back home on Sunday, I'm sure going to miss them.
I will try to be better in keeping my blog updated. So dont forget to check it once in a while to see what we have been up to.
I love to get your comments which you can do by clicking on where it says comments.
These pictures od Alan Jackson and Reba McEntire were taken from the monitors.

Our first Concert

Standing in line to go to the Conert. Rich was able to get us free tickets to the CMA Music Festival here in Nashville. All kinds of big country singers perform here for 4 days.
We were up pretty high but there were monitors all over the place.
This is the view of the stage from where we were sitting.
Hey, what do you want for free tickets!! It was great! we really enjoyed it.
We saw: Jason Michael Carrol, Trace Atkins, The Wreckers, Derks Bentley, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson and Reba McEntire.

Breakfast Visitor

This little guy decided to visit us for breakfast our first morning. We did feed him some bread and he came back the next day.
He is pretty isn't he.

Final Destination

Here we are at our final destination, a campground right across from the lake! David and Michele playing in the lake.
David loves to throw rocks in the water.

Michele and I were sitting outside in the evening and watching this beautiful sunset. This was our first night here in Nashville. We also tried to take a picture of the fireflies but that was pretty difficult to do, they were just too quick for our camera.
While in Amarillo, Michele and I drove to Dumas and visited some old friends that I havent seen in 35 years! It was good to see them and again and to visit for a while. Suzie cooked us an absolutely wonderful dinner.

And when we were in Oklahoma City, Michele and I visited at the Memorial. It is such a sad place.

Roadside Picnic

Of course when you are traveling you have to have a roadside picnic. We are having Tuna sandwiches with tomatoes

David had a ball playing in the campground playgrounds
Sleeping arrangements during travel. Michele and Gram sharing a bed and a custom made bed for David next to his momma
